Nightly
Illumination of the Falls
|
| |
|
Nights
are extremely breathtaking in Niagara
Falls with the Illumination of thefalls.
In 1860, the falls were first illuminated
using Bengal Lights to honour the visit
of the Prince for Wales. In 1925 this
light show began using twenty four carbon
arc lamps producing 1,320,000,000 candlepower.
Nowadays,
a total of 21 Xenon lights, each having
a brilliance of 250 million candle power
are used to illuminate the Falls. 18 of
these lights are located at the Illumination
Tower, opposite the American Falls.
